Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President, Total Rewards, the Director, Total Rewards plays a critical role in the design, implementation and delivery of compensation and benefits programs and initiatives that align with AGF's total rewards strategy. You will be involved in all aspect of total rewards, including base salary, short and long-term incentives, sales compensation plans and benefits, and ensuring programs are effective for the attraction and retention of talent and drive high performance, and align with AGF's business strategy. You will be leading and coaching a small team of total rewards professionals driving high performance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compensation practices and programs are aligned with AGF's strategic priorities, market best practices, and legislative requirements
  • Build consultative and collaborative relationships with HR Business Partners, leaders, and team members on total rewards initiatives and identify opportunity for program modification and enhancements, and develop creative and relevant solutions
  • Design and delivery of sales compensation plans; provide recommendations based on analysis, market data and alignment with business objectives and industry practices
  • Lead the development and management of AGF's job levelling framework
  • Lead the market intelligence and benchmarking process, include methodologies and survey vendors
  • Lead the end-to-end Annual Compensation Cycle
  • Lead the annual benefits plan renewal process, including cost analysis, design reviews, and preparation of communication
  • Support the transformation of compensation related data, processes and analytics into Workday HCM
  • Drive best practices, promote knowledge sharing and close collaboration within the HR team to ensure consistent interpretation and administration of compensation programs
  • Partner with finance, tax, legal, etc. on the regulatory and financial aspects of the compensation programs
  • Support the design and presentation of dashboards or summary reports on key metrics related to total rewards program efficacy
  • Coach, lead and manage a small team with diverse skills and backgrounds
  • Maintain external/internal network and awareness of market/industry trends with respect to total rewards
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline
  • CCP designation (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive compensation experience, including plan design and implementation, presentation to executives, as well as leadership experience
  • Experience with Investment and/or Asset Management compensation plans and sales compensation
  • Working knowledge of job levelling frameworks or job evaluation methodologies
  • Proven people leader with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Deep specialized knowledge of compensation including variable sales incentive plans, compensation structure, and benefits program development and implementation
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and financial modeling ability, sound judgment, independent and creative thinking with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Consulting skills to provide value added solutions to business challenges and opportunities focusing on total rewards that address the organization's immediate need and longer term strategic goals
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including cross functional projects and various stakeholders
  • Action and results-oriented, while able to maintain a broader business perspective
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in dealing proactively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge of Excel (e.g. array formulas) with demonstrated experience in complex modeling
  • Strong knowledge of Word and PowerPoint and experience with creating management presentations
  • Experience with Workday HCM is an asset
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Aptitude to leverage technology for simplification of processes and minimize manual work
