Leveraging more than 20 years of experience in the investment fund industry, Mr. Tew is responsible for the overall strategic direction of all retail distribution initiatives. He is responsible for setting the strategy for how we best service our financial advisor channel, including; setting the product development direction and aligning all parts of our business that service the retail market. Mr. Tew partners closely with our other distribution channel leads in Institutional and Private Wealth ensuring one seamless and integrated approach to the Canadian market.
As president & CEO of FTC Investor Services Inc., Mr. Tew oversees the strategy and operations of Franklin Templeton Investments MFDA registered mutual fund dealership.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Tew was the head of Sales Compliance and Business Operations for all distribution activities in North America. Earlier roles included acting as the head of Corporate Development and Planning for Canada and serving as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Franklin Templeton Investments Corp. for more than a decade. Having joined the firm in 1996, Mr. Tew's previous roles have also included head of Taxation and controller. Before joining Franklin Templeton, he held a management position in the taxation department of a major assurance, tax and advisory services firm.
Mr. Tew earned an honours B.A. degree in Chartered accounting from the University of Waterloo where he currently serves as an honorary fellow in the School of Accounting. He is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA Illinois).
